Fathers play a significant role in the lives of children. With a significant percentage of Asian fathers being migrants, further attention needs to be given to the challenges and strengths of fathers in NZ and what policies and services would best respond to the needs of a diverse mix of fathers in NZ. Parenting practices, the amount and quality of time spent with their child and the expectations and hopes for their children are all important indicators of healthy and positive engagement and experiences. There are implications for a range of settings beyond the family, including community and workplace.
