The aim of this proposal is to examine child vulnerability in the first 1000 days of life, focusing on the Growing Up in New Zealand children that live within the geographical region of South Auckland as defined by The Southern Initiative (Auckland Council).
This includes the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu, Ōtara-Papatoetoe, Manurewa and Papakura local board areas.
The purpose of this research is to find out whether there are differences between South Auckland and the wider population and whether alternative strategies might be required to improve outcomes for children and families.
