Previous research has used NZDep to demonstrate a deprivation-health gradient for many health outcomes in the GUiNZ datasets.
Our team has recently developed the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD), an alternative measure of deprivation from routine administrative datasets. The IMD comprises 7 domains and an overall deprivation index.. This study uses measures such as immunisation timeliness, oral health, and obesity to investigate the extent to which the IMD and its domains explains the deprivation/ health relationship, and how these reulsts differ to those obtained using NZDEP.
