We will analyse the Growing Up in New Zealand dataset for children from before birth to five years of age using an econometric model incorporating behavioural, environmental, and socioeconomic factors to determine their role in child development outcomes. Our results have implications for education policy makers and the development of early literacy and music programs that can generate long-lasting positive outcomes for children.
